Local House Clearances

When you’re looking for help from a professional, it’s always a bonus when they’re close by. Naturally this isn’t needed for jobs that are done online or over the phone, but for something physical like a house clearance, it’s nice to have a trustworthy provider in your local area.

We pride ourselves on our eco-friendly house clearances. But to achieve this, we need to minimize our time on the road and ensure that we’re taking items to the closest recycling centres or charity shops.

This is why we try to operate as locally as possible, operating almost exclusively in Greater Manchester and some other areas of the North West. This includes:

  • Chorlton
  • Marple
  • Marple bridge
  • Manchester City Centre
  • Didsbury
  • Wilmslow
  • Alderley Edge
  • Fallowfield
  • Gatley
  • Stockport
  • Bramhall
  • Hazel Grove
  • Timperley
  • Altrincham
  • Hale
  • Hale Barns
  • And more!

We do sometimes travel further afield for some jobs, but covering all these areas keeps us very busy! Expanding our business is important to us, we just want to do it as sustainably as we can going forward.

The Benefits of Local House Clearances

When you contact a house clearance specialist like us, it’s always a bonus if they’re close by. This is because after the initial call, we will often come and take a look at the property to assess what we’ll need, as well as estimating a price and time frame for you.

It’s mutually beneficial. Transparency is important and it means there are no surprises – we pride ourselves on our efficiency too!

If circumstances allow, we’ll always ask the owner of the property to leave while we’re hard at work. This is for a few reasons, the primary one being to keep you safe, as we’ll be moving a lot of heavy objects around and there will be a number of trip hazards.

Part of what we do involves rehoming many of your items. If they’re too good to recycle, we’ll drop them off at one of our local charity shops so that they can go to a new home (more about that later on). During the clearance we’ll be sorting through items and checking their condition. This takes up a lot of floor space and can make the job itself take longer; by leaving us to it we’ll be done as quickly as possible.

The third and arguably most important reason we ask you to step away for the day is for your peace of mind. It can be difficult to watch items you were very attached to being taken away, in the midst of what is already a stressful experience. This is especially true if you’re clearing out the home of a loved one during a bereavement and grew attached to their possessions.

We always take the time to talk to you about your reasons for the clearance. Building trust is at the heart of what we do, and we’ll do whatever we can to help make it as easy as possible, explaining the house clearance process from start to finish.

Building a Community with Local House Clearances

Working within our local area has helped us to build a community with other businesses and local people. As we said, it’s nice to get to know our clients during their clearances, and many of them have referred us to friends and family, allowing us to build a network of contacts who already trust us more than other clearance providers.

We’ve also built a strong relationship with our local charities. Every clearance results in at least a few items that can be donated, usually clothes, toys, books, or larger items such as furniture. By helping people, we also help charities to stay stocked up and give local people access to items they’ll love as much as you did.

Sometimes our local charities can’t take any more stock and have to turn away some of our donations. In this case, we don’t just give up and add them to the pile heading to the recycling centre. We have space on-site where we store many items until we can donate them later.

Speaking of recycling centres, there are 20 of them across Greater Manchester. We’ve used all at some point, whichever is closest or most convenient. We do everything we can to guarantee a 100% sustainable house clearance in Manchester, but in the rare event that something can’t be recycled, we still dispose of it safely.

How Local House Clearances are More Eco-Friendly

When judging how eco-friendly a house clearance is, distance is the main factor. We use electric vans, which don’t create any harmful fumes on the road, but the amount of electricity required for long journeys does have an impact.

So the less distance we travel for our house clearances, the better. Since we know the areas we cover so well, we’ll always take the shortest, most efficient journeys, avoiding traffic and generally getting the job done faster.

It’s helpful for our clients too. If we have to get up at the crack of dawn to head to our next job, we won’t be as fresh-faced and ready to get started as if we were based around the corner. With local clearances we’ll arrive full of energy and enthusiasm, and your clearance will be completed in no time.

The Best Local House Clearances

Many house clearance companies claim to be eco-friendly, but we put our money where our mouth is. We don’t just recycle and rehome your items, we go the extra mile to make sure it’s done in the most sustainable way possible.

If you care about your carbon footprint or just want a house clearance from a local company you can trust, we’re ready and waiting to help you.
